LINKIN PARK To Sell A Million Copies Of 'Meteora' In Its First Week
March 26, 2003LINKIN PARK's "Meteora", the band's hotly anticipated sophomore release, should sell anywhere from 900,000 to one million copies in its first week, according to early reports from national retail accounts. That, of course, will make it an easy #1 on next week's Billboard chart.
LINKIN PARK's 2000 debut, "Hybrid Theory", sold 50,000 in its first week and has sold nearly nine million copies in the U.S. to date.
In related news, producer/engineer Drew Mazurek (NOTHINGFACE, DOG FASHION DISCO) and live engineer Brad Divens (WRATHCHILD AMERICA, SOULS AT ZERO, FU MANCHU) recently mixed 12 LINKIN PARK songs from last year's Projekt Revolution tour for release as B-sides for singles from "Meteora". The same team was assembled in San Francisco last week to mix the band for their appearance on MTV2's "2$Bill Concert Series", which airs this week.
